Gabriel Olabode Ayo Foundation (GOAF) – The continuity of a worthy legacy founded on the life and times of Gabriel Olabode Ayo (May 11, 1961 – June 8, 2020)

The Formal Lunch of Gabriel Olabode Ayo Foundation

The official inauguration ceremony of the Gabriel Olabode Ayo Foundation was done on the 11th of May 2022 at the Civic Centre located on Ozuumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event coincided with the 2nd posthumous birthday of the late benefactor, Late Gabriel Olabode Ayo, and was attended by many relatives and acquaintances.

The Foundation was established to immortalize the late philanthropist and also preserve his values and contributions to charity, particularly that of underprivileged children, including those living with Down Syndrome and Autism.

Speakers at the event were Mrs. Helen Obiageli Oshikoya an Autism Specialist and Behavioural Analyst with a particular interest in the early detection of autism in children, Mr. Muyiwa Majekodunmi of Down Syndrome Foundation, Mr. Olukunle Lasisi the Branch Secretary of Nigerian Red Cross Society, Lagos State Branch, and Mrs. Christy Nzelu of Hope for All Africa Foundation.

Very well represented at the event were members of his family, and friends from all his social clubs, including the Baptist Academy Old Students Association (BAOSA), Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos City Club, and the Grand L’afric Club.

Mr. Yomi Jones, The Chairman of The Board of Trustees of The Foundation mentioned that “Since inception, the Foundation has organized visits (in December 2021), to the places visited regularly by the Late Mr. Olabode Ayo when he was alive, like the Nigeria Red Cross Orphanage, Makoko, and Hearts of Gold Hospice, Surulere.
